Yo! I have no clue how many people still log on to this site and read it. For all the loyal followers thank you for your support. Actually thank Essince for being the man behind the blog…He’s taken over the damn blog…adding menus and all that stuff.. lol

As what the future holds for Beats N’ Miso… I’m still unsure. I love the site, I love the domain, I love the people that helped me put this together… I want to do something meaningful with it..other than just let it sit. Who knows what the future holds…but I think I want to start fresh and clean.

My original idea for the site was to introduce hip hop to the Japanese community, and the reason behind it was that mainstream media takes months to catch up to the US. What I have found out over the past year, is that those few who care about Hip Hop follow overseas blogs along with me. The rest of the country is content playing catch up… because a song is not a good song until everyone is listening to it or it is being played out at clubs. That is the nature of the beast… and it is the same in all countries. In some countries, mainly the United States, the transition from blogs to radio to mainstream is faster. This is because the music leaks, the radio stations and the artists are a close knit group working together.

I don’t want to go into much more detail, because it will just be a rant about my discontent with Japanese culture, politics, and bureaucracy…which basically comes down to… old ass men that are disconnected with the reality of globalization and its culture running the country. EXAMPLE: Where else in the world is BLACK MUSIC an acceptable term for Hip Hop? Where else in the world would a distribution company threaten to sue you for putting a link to a song, that the artist himself released on the internet?

I have come across many people in many different paths of life or professions, and it seems that in Japan things are the way they are because it is “The Japanese Way”. It doesn’t matter how ridiculous the task at hand seems, it must be done because it is the “Japanese Way”.

What Japan needs is a surge of youth into its corporations and its government. It needs a complete restructure in order to move into the 21st century. I feel that Japan is veering to a steep economic downfall, but everyone is ignoring it. Economically, China has surpassed Japan and Korea is not far. The famous Zaibatsu names that propelled the Japanese economy are steadily being replaced by names such as Khia, Samsung, and even Apple. For a company that relies on its exports, this is an alarming trend.

Japan also faces some harsh realities domestically. The pop charts that used to be once dominated by Japanese artists are being taken over by Korean artists. A once blooming domestic tourism economy is now diverging to Korea because of its more affordable rates. The signs of trouble do not end there, as foreign investors are purchasing chunks of real estate and even PUBLIC LAND. How bad is Japan’s economy suffering? That is as pointless a question as “HOW BAD WERE THE REACTORS AFFECTED AT THE FUKUSHIMA PLANT?” – I won’t get into that…but the Japanese Government just magically found out that a meltdown did occur last week!!

The only way for Japan to get back on track is for the Youth to gain control of a dying country. The only obstacle they face is themselves, and the current authorities. The Japanese youth needs to stand up and fight for that they believe in, but the sad reality is that a lot give up and conform because it is “The Japanese Way”. It is a vicious cycle based on a sadistic “I had to endure this bullshit, so now I’m going to make you endure the same bullshit”.

P.S. What other Developed Country and stable political power in the world changes their Head Of State on a yearly basis? The designated term is 4 years FYI.

この季節でよく聞こえる言葉ですが、多分アメリカーで済んだこといらっしゃらないと意味がわからないです。私も高校の時’Black Friday’が太陽が出ない日と思った、けど全然違うでした。

はっきりと言うと、日本の正月見たいですね。。。家族を集めて、食べたり、飲んだり、テレビ見たり、そして翌日買い物!

Thanksgivingがアメリカで毎年11月の第4木曜日が行わる休みです。カナダーにもThanksgivingを祝うですけれど祝う日付がちょっと違う。　カナダーで10月の第2月曜日に祝うです。おんなじことを祝うするのになんで日日が違う？それは申し訳ないですが。。私も分かりません！

で。。Thanksgivingの時に何がおこる？

まず家族を集めて、みんなを食事の準備を手伝ったりとか、テレビでMacy’s Thanksgiving Day Paradeを見たり、そして死ぬほど食べる休みですね。Turkeyがメインですが、後は文化的に違う食べ物もあります。私が友達の家族と祝うした時にビーフンとか中華料理とTurkeyが食べたことがありますし。。タコスも食べたことがあります。あと人気ある食べ物がマシュマローを焼き芋の上に乗せてOvenでcookする食べ物です。。名前はCandy Yams。食後でみんなが楽しむ食べ物はやっはりデザートです。食事後にPIEを何枚を集めて、みんなを食べるです。そして次の日は残り物を食べる！

食事が終わってから家族がアメフトの試合をテレビ見たり、映画を見に行ったり、そしてクラブを行く人もあります(友達とね）！そして。。。それが終わったら。。。店の前で並びに行く人が多いです。これがBlack Fridayです。何でブラック？

クリスマス・セールが始まり、小売店が黒字になることからこう呼ばれる。

この日が特別に大きいチェイン点が夜中の2時とか4時にオープンして、商品をバーゲン、セールで安く売ることです。人が多くて死んだ人もあります！そして月曜日たったら。。。ネットがバーゲンがスタート！

感謝祭は、イギリスからマサチューセッツ州のプリマス植民地に移住したピルグリムファーザーズの最初の収穫を記念する行事であると一般的に信じられている。ピルグリムがプリマスに到着した1621年の冬は大変厳しく、大勢の死者を出したが、近隣に居住していたインディアンのワンパノアグ族の助力により生き延びることができた。翌1621年の 秋は、とりわけ収穫が多かったため、ピルグリムファーザーズはワンパノアグ族を招待し、神の恵みに感謝して共にご馳走をいただいたことが始まりであるとさ れる。しかし、イギリス人の入植者もワンパノアグ族も秋の収穫を祝う伝統を持っており、この年のこの出来事は特に感謝祭と位置づけられてはいなかった。プ リマス植民地で最初に祝われた1623年の感謝祭は食事会というよりもむしろ教会で礼拝を行い、神に感謝を捧げる宗教的な意味合いが強かった。

感謝祭はアメリカで全米が祝日となる全米祝祭日（ナショナルホリデーNational Holiday）のひとつ。

現代の感謝祭では、宗教的な意味合いはかなり弱くなっており、現代アメリカ人の意識の中では、たくさんの親族や友人が集まる大規模な食事会であり、大切な家族行事のひとつと位置づけられている。特に感謝祭前日と感謝祭休日最後となる日曜日は、空港、高速道路、鉄道などの交通機関が1年の中でも有数の大混雑・大渋滞となる。

感謝祭の朝には、大統領が二羽の七面鳥を屠殺される運命から恩赦する（Turkey Pardon）という行事がホワイトハウスで行われる。ニューヨーク市の百貨店メイシーズでは、1924年から毎年（第二次世界大戦のために1942年から1944年まで中断されたことを除き）巨大な風船を用いたパレード「Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade」が恒例行事となっている．また、通常は日曜日と月曜の夜しか行われないNFLの試合が3試合（1970年以降、ダラス・カウボーイズとデトロイト・ライオンズのホームゲーム2試合が行われるのが通例だったが、2006年以降、それ以外のチームのホームゲームが持ち回りで開催）行われる。

ニューヨーク州のように全米祝祭日の感謝祭当日のみを祭日とする所もあるが（学校や商店は休日とするところが多い）、多くの州は感謝祭の翌日の金曜日も祝日扱いとして４連休の感謝祭休日（Day After Thanksgiving）とし、中には感謝祭の前の水曜日から5 連休とする州もある。 感謝祭が過ぎるとクリスマスまで約ひと月となり、クリスマスプレゼントの 購入に向けて消費が動くため、各小売店では感謝祭をクリスマス・セールの前哨戦と位置づけ、客足をあてこんで金曜日から特別セールを行う。金曜日のセール で小売店の収支が黒字になることから感謝祭の翌日を「ブラック・フライデー」、週明けの月曜日に職場の高速回線を利用してウェブ通販でプレゼントを購入す る人が多いことから感謝祭休み明けの月曜日を「サイバー・マンデー」と呼ぶ場合がある。また、感謝祭からクリスマスまでのひと月は、小売店の年間の総売上で重要な期間となる。

1996年9月7日、ラスベガスで友人でもあるマイク・タイソンのファイトを観戦後、横付けされたキャディラックからの銃弾を4発被弾し、同月13日死亡。25歳没。ノトーリアス・B.I.G.と並び、アメリカ東西海岸ヒップホップ抗争の犠牲者と言われている。また、彼の命日は13日の金曜日であったため、様々な憶測が飛び交ったが、犯人や動機はいまだに不明のままである（2パックの母親はこの事件に関して、メディアにビギーとディディではない別の数名の具体的な名前を挙げて非難している）。
